Killer Mods that Make Your Motorcycle Rock

Killer Mods that Make Your Motorcycle Rock

Motorcycles, more than any other mode of transportation, are an extension of the person at the controls. Every day people all over the country buy the same trucks or sedans and merely accept their appearances, but bikes are made to have personality! The type of bike you choose to buy is the beginning of that process — deciding who you are and how your ride should reflect that. With that in mind, we'll take a look at some killer modifications that you can use on your ride.

Exhaust

While this isn't the most common mod for riders, and certainly not the cheapest, exhaust mods are one of the most exciting things you can have done to your bike. For many of us, our bikes are defined by how they roar, rip, rumble or scream down the highway. The exhaust is what defines that sound.

Consider the type of bike you have and what sounds good to you. Make it personal. This is your bike's voice and its way of showing who it is. Will yours be just another choir boy or will it stand out like a scream from Steven Tyler of Aerosmith? It's all up to you. Exhaust mods might not be cheap, but there are fairly simple kits you can buy/install on your own or take to a body shop.

Frame Sliders

These are a fairly simple mod that does a bit of multitasking for you. On one hand, it protects the important parts of your motorcycle's engine in the event you wipe out. On the other hand, they look really cool. Consider this like "clothes" for your bike. What type of clothes do you wear? How do you want your bike to dress?

Frame kits are pretty inexpensive so they are a lot like a second insurance policy with serious style. Engine guards do the same thing for larger bikes like cruisers. They add a certain flare and protect your engine and tank from scuff marks and scratches if the bike goes down.

Windshield

Most people love rocking a cool pair of shades to keep the sun out of their eyes. Why not have the same for your bike? The manufacturers tend to place a generic screen on the bike, but again, you want your bike to be a reflection of you. Some are taller than others and differ based on your height, the speed you ride at and how much tint you like.

You can choose something sleek and aerodynamic or simply pick a new smoky shade for your windshield tint. Another perk to changing shields is for riders who like to film while riding. The optical clarity on an upgraded windshield is almost always better than stock ones, which means you can get the perfect view of your ride.
